I DESIRE: A HEART TRANSPLANT pt. 1

I recently took CO-CO to the doctor. She needs a new heart :( (hard drive for the slow people). Luckily, I found someone who would install my new hard drive and update my computer with ALL THE LATEST AND COOL SOFTWARE!! woo hoo!!! CO-CO did desire a makeover...so...I guess why not now?!

I'm just happy I don't have to go through the Apple Store. I know I can't afford that! Recession has officially become my middle name.

I'll keep you updated on Co-Co's health.

I DESIRE: THE LEGEND!

I would like to SHOUTOUT TO MY ACE!! ASHA BRYONNE HILL!!!

On Tuesday I was honored with the opportunity to see MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ARTIST OF ALL TIME: JOHN LEGEND!!!!!!!!!!


(I can hear the crowd's roar about this great news!!)

When I say that man was great...THAT MAN WAS GREAT!
John (because we are on first name basis) performed at least 25 songs consecutively.
No wardrobe changes (well one...only for dramatic effect) and no water breaks.

He is indeed a true artist!
I know I'm supposed to upload pics and videos from the concert but i was too excited, mesmerized and on cloud 9 that I couldn't focus on capturing anything. That and Asha left her camera in the car :( .

At the concert I realized that more artists need to be more like The Legend. He made a very good point during the show. He said that back in the day (probably the late eighties and nineties) when we had an urge or desire to slow it down and groove we had the harmonies of Jodeci, H-town, Shai etc. But TODAY, YOU PUT ON A LIL' JOHN LEGEND! (This is the moment where I screamed!!!) Where are all the Jodeci's, Boyz II Men's, (old) Dru Hill's, etc. PLEASE COME BACK!
(I'm content with Musiq.)

Another thing I noticed at the concert, was the variety of people. There were Black, White, ASIAN, young, middle-aged and OLD COUPLES. I was astounded at the fact that The Legend brought all of these different people out!!! My heart warmed while I saw the many older couples having a date night and being serenaded by the bravado of The Legend.

Between him and Pres. Barack and Michelle...BLACK LOVE IS BACK!!!

R.I.P. CO-CO

My 2.5 yr. old Macbook just died recently and I don't know how to react. EVERYTHING IS LOST!!!! Coconut "Co-Co" Sykes was my life....

When I was bored: She was there to entertain me.
When I was productive: She was there to produce.
When I was sad: She made me laugh.
When I was inquisitive: She answered all of my questions.

I could go on..but... I can't breathe.

This post has nothing to with Soulja Boy. This is a general plead to whomever feels that they are lying/hiding their deep dark secrets of homosexuality. NEWSFLASH: Your closest friends/family already know anyway! They are just waiting for CONFIRMATION. You are in a GLASS CLOSET! We See You! We See You!

I know it's easier said than done. I know you are probably saying, "how can I understand when I'm on the opposite end of the sexuality spectrum?" Well I believe that it's easier in today's society to "come out" than in previous years when dealing with the issue of acceptance. I know everyone is different so no pressure! ;)

It just annoys me! I'm a single black female in Atlanta. There are already FEW single black men in Atlanta (Including the male whores), and I have to worry about snagging a DOWNLOW man. GIVE ME A BREAK AND JUST STEP OUT OF THE CLOSET!

STEPS:
1. PUT YOUR HAND ON THE DOORKNOB AND TURN SLOWLY
2. PULL THE DOOR BACK ENOUGH SO THAT YOUR BODY CAN EASILY WALK THROUGH THE DOOR FRAMES
3. LIFT YOUR LEFT FOOT
4. PLACE IT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE THRESHOLD
5. REPEAT STEPS 3&4 WITH YOUR RIGHT FOOT
6. EXHALE (YOU'VE BEEN WAITING TO DO THAT RIGHT?)
7. (the most important step ;)) DO YOU! :D

Today I desire for all people of the world to bow their heads and pray for Barack Obama and for the United States of America.  This is truly a historic moment in our country and only GOD can guarantee a smooth transition.

I pray that God protects the Obama family.  I pray that God guides Pres. Barack Obama's footsteps and allow him to make sound decisions.  I pray that this moment not only inspires America but the world to look beyond the surface.  I pray that this provokes people all over to stand up, take on responsibility and make CHANGES in their lives for the good.  I pray that Pres. Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama serve as credible models to those that need them.  I pray that you are God alone, that you are first in the White House and that you are not forgotten!
